The Future of Pakistan’s Judiciary: Prospects for Improvement in Global Rankings

We are pleased to announce our research project 'The Future of Pakistan’s Judiciary'. An in-depth research reveals the pressing challenges facing Pakistan's legal system and offers pathways for improvement. By way of background, this critical research examines factors influencing Pakistan's low rankings on the World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index, highlighting issues like underfunding, an extremely low judge-to-population ratio, and procedural delays. By comparing these metrics with high-ranking countries, We have stressed upon the urgent need for judicial independence, modernized and intelligent case management, and increased financial budget. We would recommend it as an essential reading for policymakers, legal professionals, and citizens advocating for a fairer and more effective justice system.
